Pre-Writing Seminar for Ph.D. Candidate Mohammed Khudair Abbas Ahmed in the Department of Software

As part of the ongoing scientific activities organized by the Department of Software at the College of Information Technology – University of Babylon, Ph.D. candidate Mohammed Khudair Abbas Ahmed delivered a pre-writing seminar to present and discuss the key components of his doctoral dissertation entitled:
"Interpretable Interactive Prediction of Healthcare Services Using an Intelligent Model",
under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Iman Saleh Sakban, and in the presence of the department’s scientific committee.

The research aims to develop an intelligent predictive model focused on enhancing the quality of healthcare services. This is achieved through the construction of a dynamic neural network capable of producing accurate and interpretable outputs, addressing one of the major challenges in contemporary artificial intelligence applications—namely, the limited transparency and explainability of most existing models.

The researcher employed real-world data sourced from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in the United States. These data underwent thorough preprocessing to ensure accuracy and relevance. Subsequently, user input was integrated as a critical factor in guiding the prediction strategy.

The proposed model relies on a flexible neural network architecture that is interactively customized based on input features, with the objective of generating reliable, data-driven predictions about the quality of services provided by hospitals.

This study contributes significantly to the field of explainable artificial intelligence (XAI), and opens promising avenues for applying interpretable deep learning models in healthcare systems, thereby enhancing decision-making processes with greater transparency and trustworthiness.
