A Chess Competition for Software Engineering Students at the College of Information Technology

In an atmosphere characterized by constructive competition and a spirit of cooperation, the Student Activities Unit at the College of Information Technology, in partnership with the Student Activities Unit at the College of Materials Engineering and the Student Activities Unit at the University of Babylon, organized a chess competition for students of the Software Engineering Department as part of the college’s efforts to expand collaboration across university colleges.

This event aimed to enhance analytical and strategic thinking skills among students, and to promote fair competition and teamwork within a series of extracurricular activities through which the college seeks to support and develop students’ intellectual capabilities.

The competition witnessed wide participation from students of the department, who demonstrated a high level of focus and accuracy in their performance, reflecting the college’s commitment to providing an educational environment that combines academic knowledge with practical activities that contribute to shaping a well-rounded university student.

The event was held as part of ongoing efforts to open new avenues of cooperation with the university’s colleges, fostering the exchange of experience and the organization of joint activities that support educational development and enrich student engagement.
