The Council of the Software Department Holds Its Periodic Meeting, Discusses Academic and Administrative Issues

The Council of the Software Department convened its periodic meeting under the chairmanship of the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Sura Zaki Al-Rashed, and in the presence of the Department Rapporteur, Lecturer Dr. Haider Fares Naji, along with all faculty members of the department. During the meeting, a number of important academic and administrative topics were discussed, most notably academic advising, the submission of examination questions and continuous assessment activities, with an emphasis on clarity, comprehensiveness, and proper distribution of marks. The meeting also addressed the assignment of faculty members to courses for the second semester and the discussion of end-of-semester reports.
Furthermore, the meeting included a review of the Student Information System (SIS) and mechanisms for its development within the framework of digital transformation, as well as a discussion of student absences in coordination with absence committees and faculty members. The agenda also covered proposed academic and extracurricular activities to be delivered by faculty members, emphasized adherence to appropriate professional dress and conduct, and reviewed the updated faculty accounts managed by the Accounts Monitoring Committee. Faculty members actively participated by proposing topics that contribute to addressing societal challenges and maximizing the use of the department’s expertise, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence and modern technologies.

At the conclusion of the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of strengthening cooperation between the department administration and faculty members in a manner that supports the advancement of the educational process and the achievement of the desired academic objectives.
