As part of the Third National Plan for the Advancement of Iraqi Women, specifically under the pillar of Participation and Institutional Reform for the year 2025, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Information Technology organized a workshop entitled “The Importance of Positive Social Upbringing for Children” on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

The session was led by Dr. Mai Abdul-Monem and Lecturer Nadia Ali, who emphasized the critical role of a healthy upbringing in shaping a conscious, responsible generation and in fostering positive values among children. The workshop highlighted the importance of nurturing environments that support children s psychological and social development.

Key themes addressed during the workshop included modern parenting approaches, the role of families and educational institutions in instilling citizenship and belonging, as well as the significance of dialogue and mutual respect between parents and children.

This initiative aligns with ongoing national efforts to empower women in the fields of education and social development, ultimately contributing to sustainable and meaningful transformation within Iraqi society.
