Institutional Accreditation Committee Visits the College of Information Technology at the University of Babylon

As part of the ongoing efforts to fulfill institutional accreditation requirements and strengthen academic quality standards, the College of Information Technology at the University of Babylon welcomed a ministerial delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, representing the Institutional Accreditation Committee, on Sunday, April 20, 2025.
The delegation was received by the respected Dean of the College, Prof. Wesam Sameer Bhaya, along with the associate deans, heads of academic departments, and a number of administrative unit leaders.
This visit is part of a series of field assessments carried out by the committee to evaluate the institutional and academic status of higher education institutions and to examine the extent to which they comply with the core criteria outlined in the institutional accreditation framework. These criteria cover a wide range of key areas including infrastructure, academic programs, and administrative and educational quality standards.
During the visit, the ministerial team conducted a comprehensive tour that included:
Lecture Halls: The team interacted with students from various academic levels to gain insight into the learning environment, instructional methods, and the quality of services provided.
Student Affairs Division: The delegation reviewed procedures for registration, electronic documentation, and archiving systems, expressing appreciation for the high level of organization and administrative discipline.
Scientific Laboratories: The team evaluated the laboratory facilities, equipment, and safety protocols, as well as their alignment with the practical and research-based curriculum requirements.
In addition, the visiting team held a meeting with the college administration to review the main components of the accreditation file. They commended the college’s preparedness, organizational efficiency, and the collective efforts made by the administrative and technical staff to maintain a modern and effective educational environment that aligns with accreditation and quality assurance standards.
At the conclusion of the visit, Prof. Wesam Sameer Bhaya reaffirmed the college’s commitment to continuous development through a systematic academic approach that keeps pace with current advancements. He emphasized the institution’s dedication to embedding a culture of quality and achieving academic excellence, supported by the strategic vision and guidance of the University of Babylon’s presidency, aiming to elevate the college’s standing among its peers at the national level.
