The College of Information Technology Hosts Students from Al-Ain Foundation for Social Care and Organizes Specialized Training Workshops in Technology Fields

As part of its commitment to community engagement and in support of partnerships with organizations serving various social groups, the College of Information Technology at the University of Babylon welcomed a delegation of students from the Al-Ain Foundation for Social Care. This visit was part of a multi-day educational initiative designed to enhance technological awareness and digital competencies among participants.

Under the direct supervision of the college s Dean and with the active involvement of department heads and the Continuing Education Unit, the college delivered a series of specialized training workshops. These sessions covered a wide range of topics tailored to the participants’ needs, including graphic design using Adobe Photoshop, essential skills in Microsoft Office applications, and introductory programming concepts using the Scratch environment—a platform specifically designed to foster logical thinking and creativity among children and adolescents.

In addition to the training sessions, the visiting students were given a comprehensive tour of the college facilities. They were introduced to the college’s three academic departments—Software, Networks, and Cybersecurity—along with insights into the academic system and a showcase of notable student projects. This tour provided the guests with a closer look at university-level educational practices and the dynamic nature of contemporary technology disciplines.

At the conclusion of the program, Al-Ain Foundation honored the instructors and trainers who contributed to the success of the initiative, acknowledging their dedication and positive engagement with the students. Representatives from the foundation expressed their deep appreciation for the college’s hospitality and professionalism, emphasizing the substantial impact the workshops had in fostering technical skills and broadening the students’ educational horizons.

The Dean of the College reaffirmed the institution’s ongoing commitment to societal outreach and its readiness to support all community segments through scientific and academic collaboration—an embodiment of the university’s mission to serve the community and uphold values of responsibility and shared growth.
