As part of its ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of practical application and enhancing students’ readiness for the job market, the Department of Software Engineering at the College of Information Technology – University of Babylon has launched a series of field visits to training sites where third-year students are currently engaged in their summer training program.

These visits included several leading companies in the technology sector, such as Asiacell, in addition to government institutions and technical centers across various provinces. The students are receiving hands-on professional training in real-world work environments.

The primary objective of this training initiative is to prepare students for practical engagement by bridging the gap between the theoretical knowledge acquired at the college and the applied skills demanded by technology-based institutions. During the training, students become acquainted with operational systems used in these institutions, learn how to navigate them effectively, and acquire essential competencies that boost their confidence and adaptability in future workplace settings.

The training program encompasses a wide range of areas, including software design and development, database construction, mobile application programming, information security, and artificial intelligence. It also emphasizes the cultivation of soft skills such as teamwork and problem-solving.

These field visits by the department’s faculty reflect their continuous support for students and their dedication to guidance and mentorship. By closely monitoring the students progress and responding to their needs, the faculty ensures that the training experience is both impactful and aligned with the students’ professional aspirations, thus paving the way for a distinguished and competent career path.
