The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, through the Department of Journals and Cultural Relations, has announced the inauguration of the first cycle of the Hamdan Award for Digital Innovations in Education for the year 2025. This initiative is based on the directive issued by the General Secretariat of the Iraqi National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science.

The award is designed to enhance the quality of education, foster innovation, and encourage creative minds—both individuals and institutions—to develop pioneering solutions to educational and research challenges. Through rigorous and impactful projects, the award seeks to contribute to the advancement and modernization of the educational process.

The core themes of the award include artificial intelligence, digital education, blended learning, the production of educational media, building secure learning environments, and promoting digital literacy. These themes are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and international quality standards.

The Ministry has urged universities, colleges, and academic bodies across the country to actively engage in this initiative by forming specialized committees tasked with informing faculty members and researchers about the mechanisms and requirements for applying to the award.
